50 Shades of White
This flower was blooming in a nearby garden. There is beauty in simplicity.
Spiders in the Sky
I was so excited to see that I could actually grow this big guy in my very own flower pot. It is called a Spider Lily and gets to be about 4 feet tall.
The Minnesota State Flower, The Pink Lady Slipper
After asking the Park Ranger at Sibley State if there were any lady slippers blooming in the park, he pointed me in the correct direction. A real beauty this Lady is.
Spring Apple Blossoms
The bees were very busy around the blooms of the crab apple tree in Sibley State Park. The fragrance of the tree was amazingly refreshing.
Texture in White
I love these thistle seed heads. I make fall arrangements by spraying them with fall colors, let it dry and cut from the stem to make a wonderful accent to any room. They last a long time. Find them in the road ditches.
Ready for a Mate
This American Egret is in it's prime mating colors. Spotted near Ringo Lake, near Spicer.
The Beauty of a Weed
I love these thistles when they aren't in my garden. It is fun to spray them with paint and use them as a bouquet.
A Trio of Horses
The farm near our home has three horses occupying the barn. I have wanted to get a picture for some time now but it seemed that the horses were either in the barn, in the shadows or I didn't have me camera with me. I finally had all three factors fall in line.
Just Hanging Around
The wind has blown this feather into a hitchhiker type of a plant and it was sticking, despite the wind.
A Closer Look
Have you ever taken the time to look at the fungus on most trees? It's a work of art.
I am thrilled to be part of the Capture Minnesota photos. For several years I have posted a picture nearly every day on facebook (under "Marcy Swanson, Willmar, MN) with a thought for the day or a spiritual inspiration. Many people have told me I should enter some of my photos in contests but, until now, I have not followed through with their suggestions. I am not a professional photographer by any means. I enjoy capturing the beauty that God has created. My motto is "God provides the beauty, I just push the button." It makes my day when I receive comments indicating that I am not the only one that can see the beauty. Thank you in advance for your comments.
update; Because of health problems, I have been away from Capture Minnesota for more than a year. I am excited to be able to come back and make a few more entries.
