Ellingson Island Backlit

At first, I was wondering what was lighting the cloud behind Ellingson Island. Then remembered why I drove to the north shore Thursday night. I expected the Aurora Borealis to be very active, after checking the Northern Lights forecast. Just as I was about to leave home, I discovered my misreading of the chart. The Northern Lights were expected to be great Thursday morning, not Thursday night. I noticed the yellow-green light on the horizon just left of the island. I took some more shots of the horizon, and yes, the Aurora was north. On the 10pm news, my wife told me the Aurora was in its splendor In Voyagers National Park...north of Ellingson Island (near Split Rock Lighthouse). I am now certain the Aurora backlit the cloud.
