My login isn't working. Can you help?
Eek! We sure hope so. There's a lot that could go wrong with logging in. If you can't remember your password, try resetting your password. If you've reset your password but the new password isn't working, it's likely a cookie issue (not the chocolate-chip kind). Our site requires that cookies be enabled, so if you have cookies disabled or have any kind of custom security settings for your internet browser you may need to change those to the default (or normal) levels and enable cookies. It is also a good idea to clear all cookies and cached files before attempting to log in again. You can usually find all of these settings in "Internet Options" in your browser's "Tools" menu. Another potential problem is any kind of anti-virus or firewall you may have installed on your computer. While these are generally a good thing and help keep you secure and bug-free, they may have settings which are preventing you from accessing our site. Try adding our web site address (captureminnesota.com) to the "allowed" list in your settings.
How do I delete my account?
Email us and we'll get you taken care of. Please be aware that by deleting your account, all activity you have generated on Capture Minnesota, such as photo uploads, comments, loves, etc. will be irrecoverably removed.
Do I have to be a certain age to use this site?
Yes. State laws vary (check into it if you are concerned), but federal law dictates that you must be 13 to create user profiles and such, which this site needs. See the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 for more info.
Can I sign up more than once?
You think that'd be fair? Come on, don't be fishy. Sign up once. Vote for your own photos once. This is a fun contest where cheaters won't prosper. We've got schemes to track fishy folks. Our computers keep track of all sorts of site activity. When something seems off, a little birdie tells us who's doing what, and how long it's been going on. We'd hate to do it, but we may be forced to remove a user, or group of users, if said birdie informs us of cheating activities.
What are identities?
Identities are ways people can reach you or find you on other web sites. Identities you list will be featured on your public profile for other users to see. You don't need to list anything here if you'd rather not, but if you want people to check out your Flickr profile, web site, or be able to reach you by email, phone, etc., this is the place to list your details. You can always remove an identity later if you change your mind.
What is a user photo?
A user photo is where you can upload a picture of youself. This helps make your user profile feel more like you. Your comments, loves, etc. will all have your user photo next to it, so other users can get to know you. For best results, upload a square crop.
How can I log in with my Facebook account?
Simple! Just click on the 'Login with Facebook' button on either the login page or the register page. If this is your first time doing so, you will be asked to grant us permission to access some of your Facebook information, including your email address, which is required to be able to look up an existing Capture Minnesota account, or create a new one.
If you already have an existing Capture Minnesota account registered with the same email as your Facebook account, you will be logged in and redirected to your dashboard. If you don't already have a Capture Minnesota account registered under the same email that your Facebook is using, one will be created for you, and you will be redirected to your dashboard and asked for a few more bits of information.

I logged in with Facebook. Why is it a different, or blank, account?
When logging in with Facebook, we have to use the information given to us from Facebook. The email address that you have set as your contact email for Facebook is the unique piece of information we use to look up your Capture Minnesota account. If that email address doesn't find an existing account in our system, a new Capture Minnesota account is made with that email address. Don't worry, however, if this happens to you! All you must do in order to use Facebook to sign in and access your existing Capture Minnesota account is log in using your Capture Minnesota username / password (not the 'Login with Facebook' button), navigate to your account settings, and click the large "Connect with Facebook" button. From this point on, your Facebook and Capture Minnesota accounts will be connected, regardless of which email addresses were used on either service.
